Various online leftists have cheered his death, and it’s disgusting. But once again, attributing his murder to an entire political party and/or movement—the vast majority of whom I’ve seen *condemn* this—just foments the kind of divisive, us-vs-them mentality that a lot of people agree led to this shooting.

Actually, the unborn demand the total reordering of our lives if they survive to birth (Aka are not murdered by abortion), and this weird tendency of progressives to diminish them to an abstraction is incongruent with almost every pro life activist’s investment in single moms, at risk families, and children in foster care.

It is a shame that evangelicals are presented with the need to choose between the needs of the unborn and the needs of the impoverished and at-risk. But it’s also a false choice. We can advocate for and serve both.
