@erlee0217@HowardU Also, doesn’t help that if you were to major in Music at Howard the Fine Arts curriculum doesn’t even allow for Marching Band as a class for actual credit so there goes another avenue of students who may have wanted to march but can’t because curriculum doesn’t allow for it.
@erlee0217@HowardU As a proud alumni of the S.H.O.W.T.I.M.E. Marching Band at the end of the day it comes down to funding that the band has increasingly lost from the 4 years I was in the program. I’m sure it has continued to lose even after I graduated.
@erlee0217@HowardU Overall band culture has changed so much as well. Being that Howard is not in the core south of HBCU marching bands recruiting is always hard then add on to the fact that it costs 60k a year to attend Howard.
@foreverambre Totally understandable. Trust after all these years of school I’m at the very end of my rope. But yea definitely gotta do that soul searching to determine everything you want and how to go about doing it.
@foreverambre Everybody gotta find their own purpose, but coming from me I know it’s hard right now to see that you spending all this money for piss poor conditions.
@foreverambre Courtney is so right! Trust I’ve gone here 4 years through the good times and more of the bad but it’s truly up to the things you want in life. I definitely get leaving Howard or not understanding the way they do things but I’ve found my love for Howard thus why I haven’t left.
