Consensus: AI could possibly kill us all by the end of the decade.
Also Consensus: $TSLA will never achieve self driving using only vision and AI.

Starfall is the quiet new SpaceX vehicle.
A short, wide saucer that brings cargo home from orbit. Not a crew capsule. Not Starship. A crate with a heat shield.
• First flight went up on a Falcon 9 on 23 June 2026. Recovery was in the Pacific two days later.
• About 3.1 meters across and only 0.75 meters tall. Empty mass around 2.1 tonnes. Room for about one tonne of payload in a shallow bay.
• Two pieces do the work. An aluminum top plate holds the cargo and the cold-gas thrusters. A carbon-fiber heat shield takes the heat, then drops before splashdown. Parachutes finish the job.
• No deorbit engine on the capsule. The rocket, or another craft, sets the path down. Starfall just flies that path and lives through the fire.
Lift was the old problem. Getting a kilogram to orbit used to eat the budget. The new problem is getting a finished thing back.
You can grow crystals and drugs in microgravity. You can pull cleaner wafers when nothing settles. None of that pays if the only ride home is a Dragon built for people.
SpaceX said the point is cheap, routine access to that environment. Research first. Then manufacturing that actually returns a box you can open on a dock.
Starship is the truck that goes up. Starfall is the crate that comes down. An orbital factory without that crate is just a lab that never ships.
@brewski77@Tesla@Tesla_AI Yeah, I’ve had this happen a couple times on hardware 3. My suspicion is that the oncoming truck is perceived to be an emergency vehicle and so Tesla is pulling over hard and fast. Doesn’t happen on hardware 4.
