@DorothyEubank16 Bezos started out with money from his parents and a dream.
If he failed, none of his critics would come to his rescue but since he succeeded they all want a piece of his pie.
The critics all have the freedom to chase a dream and take a risk - but they won’t.
@Logically_JC So, the state picked up 2/3rds of the debt (those transferring duty debt to non-city residents) and delaying pension accruals to the next Mayor instead of paying them now covered most of the other 1/3rd of the debt. This is just financial bullshit to anyone looking closely.
@_NeedsMoreSleep@zerohedge I’ve never been much of a drinker but there were many times I had too much and they all turned out bad for me. I rarely drink anymore.
@patrickrooney@zerohedge Agree. Many are drinking less. This trend has been growing the last few years. The Wall Street Journal is just putting an anti-Trump spin on what should be good news.
@mcsquared34 Talk to Chuck Schumer. He is the Dems man on Wall Street and has collected millions in campaign donations from hedge funds. In return, hedge funds are taxed lightly.
@AwakenChirp@antwain48@Big_Mck Poverty is the natural state of man and nature. Wealth is generated through capitalist principles. That’s why America is great.
@Big_Mck Capitalism works and that’s why America is great. Corruption/Socialism/Communism does not work and that’s why Africa remains stuck with crime and poverty for hundreds of years.
@AssociatesFirst@OnlyInBOS Worse. I was on one of the lines back in the 1990s. The train was a bunch of old streetcars linked together with one driver. BUT - each car had a motorman who opened and closed doors. So, you had six or more highly-paid union guys operating one train. Union rules.
@SmokieMcPot10@LaGrecca333 Most major cities in the south have huge populations of migrated northerners. I’ve lived and been in several southern metro areas and oftentimes you won’t run into a native southerner all day. Oh, is “Smokie McPot” a high class moniker, bud?
@CandaceNiemeyer Yep. Everybody should pay the same amount for local government, police, fire, and school regardless of a home’s value.
Of course this will mean the lower-income people with smaller houses be paying more and people with big houses will pay less.
Sell that at a town meeting!
@ToriatheistTori Yep. Bezos owns 15% of Amazon and the other 85% is owned by investors and pension funds for everyday Americans. So, he made more money for others than he did for himself. And, he saved his customers countless hours running around polluting the atmosphere looking for products.
