Hot take after 2 years of Bun in production: the DX is good enough that I'd pick it over Node even for "boring" enterprise work.
@bunjavascript + @elysiaJS + @DrizzleORM is the most fun I've had shipping backend in years.
TypeScript 7.0 Beta is here!
Built on a new native and parallelized foundation, it's already being used on multi-million line codebases.
Read up more here and try it on your projects today!

How we made Elysia fast
Wrote a thing about we made Elysia fast
and likely as one of the fastest JavaScript frameworks
Explaning about JIT "Compiler" and "Sucrose"
About Elysia ideology
We want to make a framework to make your life a bit easier
1. Performance
We don’t compromise on performance
We choose only the most efficient ways to do things
This results in JIT “compiler”, Sucrose, platform specific optimization and various micro-optimization
2. Type Soundness
We want to bring type integrity to TypeScript similar to strongly typed language as much possible
Everything should be from a Single Source of Truth without type mismatch
We maintain an advanced type system behind the scene so you don’t have to manually write complex type yourself
This complex type system can handle encapsulation, end-to-end type safety and track various dependencies across your entire server in type-level
3. Developer Experience
We want to make you focus only on a business logic
Reducing mundane tasks as much as possible while making everything feels natural and integrated
Code should be declarative and Elysia should handle complex tasks behind the scene to make it “just work”
Using Elysia should feels natural and feels just like writing JavaScript, and not for making it just for the framework
We offers industry standards solutions that actually make your life easier out of the box like OpenAPI, OpenTelemetry that just works
These are what we stand for as a framework
If our ideology aligns with you, please give us a try or simply acknowledge us
We are trying to make TypeScript backend a better place for everyone
Thank you
Claude Sonnet 5 drops next week.
↳ 1M context
↳ Half the price of Opus 4.5
↳ Best-in-class for agentic coding
↳ crushes Opus 4.5 at coding WHILE BEING 50% CHEAPER
↳ new Swarm feature lets you spin up *multiple teams* of agents that run in parallel and use claude code THEMSELVES
↳ basically an entire dev team on your computer but they work 10X as fast.
↳ 1M context window, SOTA SWE bench they're also hiring security researchers for "self-improving AI" which means this model can likely build a better version of itself autonomously.
Today, we’re deprecating Create React App for new apps, and encouraging existing apps to migrate to a framework.
We’re also providing docs for when a framework isn’t a good fit for your project, or you prefer to start by building a framework.

“Today’s LLMs are the ‘Mainframe Computers’ of our generation”
I was on @BloombergTV today discussing @SakanaAILabs, and to share my view that today’s LLMs are our generation’s “Mainframe Computers”. We are still in the very early stages of AI, and it is inevitable, due to market competition and global innovation (especially from those innovating with resource constraints), that this technology will become a million times more efficient.
There is a narrative established in Silicon Valley that AI is a “Winner Takes All” technology, and that scaling up existing models and consuming ever greater resources will require (and even justify) the largest investments of our generation, in order to “win” the AI race.
In contrast, I believe that AI is not a “winner takes all” technology. LLMs will be commoditized, become vastly more efficient, and made widely available in all countries. Ultimately, there will be thousands, if not millions, of AI models used by everyone. Just like with the evolution of early clunky mainframe computers to modern computing, how we use AI today will look very different in a few years (or even a year from now), compared to today’s ‘clunky’ LLMs.
Taking a look at Fastify.
You can speed up JSON serialization by a factor of 2-3 by specifying an output schema - and it's a first-class part of the framework 🤯
