to think that when the World Cup was announced it would be held here in Australia, i was still working at woolies. Not once did i ever think i would ever be able to go to World Cup, much less work at one. This last month has been such a wild ride. World Cup’s crazy bruh.

1/3 I was in tears in the stadium as Russo put England up 3-1 last night and the rush of fans leaving early made me feel so crestfallen.

After the full-time whistle went I was bawling my eyes out. It felt like an opportunity had been lost.

2/3 But the Matildas have made Australia fall in love with football like I've never seen before.

Australian football has new heroes and the Matildas have inspired young girls (and boys) across Australia to play football and sports in general.

We have lost an icon. I was honoured to spend a day with him at his home in 2018 hearing his story, his life, and his vision.
