RUBAVU, RWANDA — From August 19 to August 21, 2026, ARDE/KUBAHO is participating in the Rubavu Expo to showcase the impact of its landscape restoration project, implemented in partnership with TerraFund for AFR100.

The event was attended by the Executive Secretary of the Western Province as the Guest of Honor, alongside 87 district partners organized across three operational clusters: Economic Development, Social Welfare, and Good Governance.

The six-year initiative covered 1,500 hectares across the Nyakiriba and Cyanzarwe sectors in Rubavu District. The project successfully achieved its targets of planting 250,000+ agroforestry trees and creating more than 507 local jobs.

Full implementation was carried out in close collaboration with community stakeholders, including 10 farmers' groups and 11 environmental clubs.

The tree species planted under the program include:

-Fruit & Agroforestry: Avocado, Grevillea, Calliandra, Leucaena, and Alnus

-Soil & Slope Stabilization: Bamboo

The completed project delivered soil stabilization and erosion control across the target areas while boosting local agricultural output and community livelihoods.
