@tetrarch1911 If they're doing a possible NY prep race then I think the most likely prep race would be the G3 Vosburgh. It runs the same distance as the Churchill Downs Stakes and is considered a major prep race for US horses competing in BC Sprint.

About 85% of the main track is natural local soil and 15% is slit and clay. The mixture allows horses to run fast times even in rainy weather. They also use this type of surface at Santa Anita too.

@T_WONDER_H They usually stay at racetracks wherever the horse's trainer is based. In the US, we don't have the type of training centers that JRA does so usually racehorses are stabled, train and workout during the morning hours at the racetrack.
