My favorite #foram, here to share ~spooky~ stories from the Southern Ocean's past 🐚👻🎃 These stories coming your way @gradclimateconf this Sunday and later, @theAGU#GCC2020#AGU20
Very satisfying seeing #foraminifera arranged in rows. Once I have ~700 of these bad boys I'll crush them between glass microscope plates, give them a little 💅spa day chemical treatment and measure their nitrogen isotopic composition #delightful
Nice to connect back with my old friends over at @URIGSO as part of role on the now Dr Jones @ClimateByProxy PhD committee. Learnt a lot about diatoms and nitrate in Antarctica. Great to see @RSRobinsonG@RynearsonLab and @URISoilMicro Congratulations Colin!
Raise your glass in celebration of the freshest Dr out of the Robinson Lab!! 🤙 Thanks for setting the stage for more "dope diatom" nitrogen isotope research in the future @ClimateByProxy
Word on the street is the Robinson Lab has some of the cleanest #forams around. 🤙 🔬 🐚 🛁 Each of these vials has hundreds of individual shells hand picked under microscope with a very small paintbrush!! #NSFfunded#paleoclimate#microfossilmonday
A great opportunity awaits! Our lab is looking for two SURFO students interested in #plankton, nutrient dynamics, and #paleoclimate. Please share with undergraduate friends/students interested in #oceanography
Lots of great discussion at today's Biological #Oceanography Poster Symposium at #URIGSO. Students presented their research on eutrophication, invasive species, aquaculture, #climatechange impacts and so much more! https://t.co/fskESMIkTd
We've got some beautiful rocks from this year's @EVNautilus field season - check out this intensely weathered lava with its hyaloclastite layer and thick ferromanganese crust! This one came to us from Dragon's Back Seamount in the Pacific.
Passed my PhD defense yesterday!! Officially Dr. Stevick!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to support me and to my wonderful advisers! #PhDone
