Congrats to Mongolia & @XacBank!
And tip of the hat to @gggi_hq who partnered with Mongolia on a 2017 readiness grant that generated the concept of the MGFC, enabling XacBank to get PPF support and Board approval in just 3 years.
GCF Board #GCFB27 approved project FP153 with @XacBank, establishing the Mongolia Green Finance Corporation to channel finance towards #mitigation targets, including energy efficiency for businesses & mortgages for green affordable housing. 💡

@theGCF Don’t forget 3rd largest funding decision at #GCFB26: $162m for Readiness Programme, including support for climate-resilient #COVID19 response strategies to keep #NDCs ambitious
Leo was a respected colleague and a friend to all who knew him. Like too many who have succumbed to #COVID19 his loss is a senseless tragedy and leaves many of us angry and frustrated. May his family find some measure of peace in knowing how much he meant to so many.
I couldn't have said it better than Andreas. Leo was a rarity in our line of work: a kind soul in an often unkind world. He brought that kindness into everything he did, and he managed to serve as a staunch advocate for those most vulnerable to climate change

@adam_tooze@hausfath@martinwolf_ We have the tech, have the policies, we have the capital. We lack deployment because investors can not find enough safe investment grade projects. Derisking and last mile finance to attract the institutional investors and banks with trillions just sitting there!
Good thread on how @JeffBezos should spend his $10bn climate pledge, how it might be tough. Nah. He should support pre-FID project development at all scales: kilo, mega, giga. We have masses of technologies, advocates, $$$. What is missing is a rip tide of high quality projects.
