Strengthening Parliamentary Engagement for a Safer, Inclusive, and Resilient Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Sustainable Social Development Organization signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to enhance collaboration on counter terrorism, counter terrorist financing, transnational organized crimes, countering violent extremism, nutrition governance, migration governance, rule of law and access to justice, environmental justice, youth development, women empowerment, and child rights through research, advocacy, and capacity building of parliamentarians and parliamentary committees.

The MoU was signed by Secretary Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Syed Wiqar Shah and Executive Director SSDO Syed Kausar Abbas in the presence of Honorable Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Babar Saleem Swati, and members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.

An awareness session on “Migration: Risks, Choices and Regular Pathways” was successfully organized by the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) in collaboration with C-SAM with youth participants in District Mandi Bahauddin.

The session focused on creating awareness among young people about the risks associated with irregular migration, informed decision-making, and safe & legal migration pathways. Around 60 participants actively attended and engaged in the discussion.

Together, we continue to empower youth through awareness, informed choices, and safer opportunities for the future.

The Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO), with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), successfully organized a two-day capacity-building workshop on “Inclusive and Gender-Responsive Delivery of Environmental Rights” in Multan.

The workshop brought together 35 participants from Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Muzaffargarh, representing government departments, regulatory bodies, civil society, minority groups, and academia, to strengthen inclusive, rights-based, and gender-responsive environmental governance.

Participants enhanced their understanding of environmental justice, gender equality, intersectionality, and climate-responsive policymaking, while jointly developing district-level action plans focused on deforestation control, flood preparedness, community-based risk mitigation, and sustainable disaster response.

As part of the initiative’s sustainability efforts, the developed action plans and Training of Trainers (TOT) module were shared with relevant departments for integration into district planning processes. SSDO remains committed to continued engagement with provincial and district authorities through follow-up consultations and technical support to advance inclusive, gender-responsive, and rights-based environmental action across South Punjab.

Anti-Beggary Awareness Walk organized by Lahore Traffic Police in collaboration with Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) at Liberty Chowk, Lahore, to raise awareness against organized beggary, human exploitation, and trafficking, while promoting dignity, rehabilitation, and social responsibility.

A delegation of academia from Indonesia and Australia also participated in the awareness walk and attended a briefing session with CTO Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Sherazi on initiatives undertaken by Lahore Traffic Police for environmental protection and smog control. The delegates appreciated the proactive measures taken by Lahore Traffic Police and the Government of Punjab for environmental protection and anti-beggary initiatives.

National Commission on the Status of Women, Islamabad has formalized a strategic partnership with the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) through the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI), reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing women’s rights and #genderequality.
This collaboration marks a significant step toward:
