@ElliscbIV By gaining ground, like just doing better than he did today in those counties, or like get to 15% better than Election Day vs. Hilton in those counties?
“Newspaper of record” @nytimes ran a story on an EPA proposal that purportedly addresses greenhouse gases from power plants. The plan is deeply flawed. Turns out, so is the Times’ coverage. (1/23)

It’s not merely an academic error either. By exaggerating the number of power plants with CCS, @nytimes is misleading readers into thinking CCS is more viable than it actually is. Which matters for public acceptance vs. opposition. (21/23)
It's zero.
The number of U.S. power plants using carbon capture is "0."
Worldwide, it's 1.
Why? Because carbon capture is inefficient, costly and has failed miserably at capturing >50% of CO2.

🚨🚨🚨 Hydrogen bill tabled!!!! Might well get revived, but hundreds of community members speaking in opposition to incentives for fossil-fueled hydrogen made their mark! #nmleg#nmpol
@RioGrandeSierra And the Navajo Nation in the past has refused to bond NTEC investments because its non-Navajo executives did not have the Navajo Nation’s fiduciary interests in mind. #nmpol
Illinois @Peoples_Action talking about #CEJA for our New Mexico Climate Summit! Illinois advocates did a great job of listening to and actively hearing impacted communities in forming CEJA. #2021NMClimateSummit#nmpol#NMleg
It’s wildly dumb that we keep talking about the “cost” of climate action when:
1) most of those costs are actually investments
2) the cost of inaction is astronomically more
3) our civilization is at stake
@NMEnvDep considering oil and gas pollution rules in day 2 of hearings. @caring_future: “We must have stronger rules that require things like frequent inspections, especially in places near schools & neighborhoods...” #CutMethane#NMPol https://t.co/R5uoV5p7qw
To my fellow Oak Parker, @DonHarmonIL — 50 legislators and Pritzker are demanding any energy bill include climate targets and not exempt the state’s biggest polluter. Your colleagues are ready to be climate champs. Are you? #twill#CEJACantWait#FossilFreeFuture
Scientific American has agreed with major news outlets worldwide to start using the term “climate emergency” in its coverage of climate change. Read our statement about this decision, and the impact we hope it can have throughout the media landscape. https://t.co/ccpALIvpxe
Most of the commentary on SB 155 in SCONC today was on the process around the passage of the ETA in 2019. Only ONE senator raised the interested party who was truly at risk. Thank you Senator @Carrie_Hamblen for keeping the focus on frontline communities and workers. #nmleg
ETA securitization applies to 2 plants: San Juan & Four Corners. It has been applies at San Juan with $7.46 savings for the average PNM customer, millions in transition and worker funding, and 100% solar&batter replacement. These aren’t unintended or unknown consequences. #nmleg
