It’s not merely an academic error either. By exaggerating the number of power plants with CCS, @nytimes is misleading readers into thinking CCS is more viable than it actually is. Which matters for public acceptance vs. opposition. (21/23)

The number of U.S. power plants using carbon capture is "0."
Worldwide, it's 1.
Why? Because carbon capture is inefficient, costly and has failed miserably at capturing >50% of CO2.
