@Claytonhel68180 @ABC Medal of honor recipients actually went above and beyond their normal duties. They know what they did was extraordinary, but they can't say that. They have to be humble. This kid made a fine rescue, but it is still within the NORMAL parameters of his job.

@DaraLewis210862 @ABC No he didn't. Thats my point. It's literally his job to rescue people. If he was just a normal citizen, with no training and he made the rescue or organized a human chain rescue, then I might be more impressed. There are lifeguard reality shows that have these same rescues.

@ABC Y'all are going wild... I was a lifeguard from 16 til i 26. As someone sarcastically said, "just a run of the mill rescue". YES! Lifeguards do this everyday. Hell, even more harrowing acts. I'm not saying he can't get recognized. For him, its just another day as a lifeguard.

@ABC I want to preface my controversial opinion by acknowledging the fact that I'm happy he was there to make the save and everybody is safe and alive... HOWEVER, he was just doing his job. If it wasn't filmed, no one would have known and there would not be any fanfare.

He was found guilty of vandalism and sentenced to jail time, a fine, and 6 lashes... the US president (Bill Clinton) couldn't even sway them much. They did reduced the lashes from 6 to 4. I'm not sure it really matters after 3.

The majority of traditional news programs have shifted more towards commentary segments rather than doing straight news.

@AdamCrigler They made such a big deal out of these 2 being in the movie, I literally had no idea who else was in it. All the trailers/clips/images I saw, included these 2. So to me, it was advertised as a bowl of soup that was full of pubic hairs. Not something I wanted, so it turned me off
