Having changed out some non-native plants for some native ones (thanks to @HNPontheMap and @Garden4Wildlife ), it was really gratifying to have a Ruby-throated Hummingbird in the garden today for the first ever time, taking nectar from one of my new Cardinal Flower plants!
Blue-headed Vireo found this morning on the busy sidewalk of Fulton St in Bed-Stuy, outside Lincoln Market. Presumably a building strike. Very sad given their relative rarity here.
These were seen on a crazy day on 14th Sep when the garden was flooded with migrants on the same day after a quiet summer. Rose-breasted Grosbeak. #birdbk
Having noticed nothing in my garden all summer, I looked out for 20mins this morning and saw:
Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Common Yellowthroat
Baltimore Oriole
BTB Warbler
House Wren
Hermit Thrushes
Goldfinch
Catbird
An unidentified warbler
An unidentified flycatcher
Nuts!
