When I hear some of these Ryoshi quotes being repeated today, I cannot help but wonder how much attention was actually given to the governance work that followed.
The Great Canine Code, The Hounds Constitution, The Shib Paper, The Idea of Shibizenship, The Idea of Justice in a Decentralized Society, the 22 Principles of Ethics for Shibizenship, and many other documents were written to answer a difficult question:
How do you build a decentralized society that can govern itself?
Well first, it starts with the perfumed princes and drama queens in positions of power respecting democratized action. That did not happen.
I put years of effort into that work. What disappoints me is watching people demand governance while resisting the idea that they, too, must be governed by the same standards.
Too often, I see Ryoshi's words stretched, reinterpreted, or quoted in isolation to avoid accountability rather than embrace the duties we had to make those ideas a reality. The loudest of those voices never contributed a minute of their time to building it.
The original ideas behind SHIB were one thing. What we were trying to build for the society of Shibarium was something larger. It required a sense of structure, responsibility, ethics, and a shared commitment to principles. These principles centered wholly around the idea of decentralization.
Bad attitudes, defamation, slander, shaming, tantrums, and many other forms of social pressure were wholly against the 22 principles that were written up.
We wanted a society that could govern itself. Instead, that utopia has proven to be unachievable in the current state of where we are in whatever people define as 'Web 3'. Because . . . the human condition is not ready for it. People are too shallow, too selfish, too evil, to make Shibizenhip work.
Many of the loudest voices today were not involved in creating that framework. There is nothing wrong with having opinions. There is nothing wrong with having big ideas. But ideas are easy. Execution is hard.
Execution fails when people treat principles as rules for everyone else while exempting themselves.
My belief was always that a decentralized society could work. I still believe it can. What I struggle with is the hypocrisy of watching people claim to support those ideals while rejecting the responsibilities that come with them.
A decentralized society (organization) cannot survive if everyone wants the authority to govern and not be willing to be governed by their peers.
A decentralized society only works when the people building its governance are willing to live under the same rules as everyone else.
In plain terms, those demanding governance have to accept being governed.
That part is not optional.
If someone's goal is to govern others while avoiding accountability themselves, the foundation is already compromised. The system stops being about shared governance and starts becoming a vehicle for power.
No governance model can succeed for long when the people creating the rules believe the rules are meant for everyone except themselves.

What @woofswap is doing with $SOU is pure help, and the intention of raising funds to help making whole the victims of the #Shibarium hack was very clear since the beginning.
The raised funds will be donated to @kaaldhairya Shib Dev team, and the plan will be defined by Shib Dev.
Wouldn't make sense for @woofswap to decide how to use the funds, or decide who to help first, or mentioning the project names individually.
Of course, doing good still makes the haters get itchy, and some will still try to bash or discredit this initiative. At this point it's already very clear who is good and supporting, and who is bad and false prophet. Even someone very distracted will understand easily.
So, for everyone noticing any negativity around this subject, be sure, this is only destructive strategy by a few ones.
Ignore the noise, and don't ignore the obvious. $SOU @ShibOwesYou will do their part on helping on this cause.
Thank you @woofswap , @kaaldhairya , @ShytoshiKusama , @LucieSHIB
Let's do this!
Come listen to number 2 of the shards of the fallen flame! The heros had a night of drinking and getting to know each other off a stolen keg. Today the festival of blades!

The cycle never ends.
SHIB is divided, and then divided again not just in supply, but in spirit. Every split echoes an older fracture, every argument retraces a path already worn thin by emotion masquerading as conviction.
Everyone hunting for the next "shib" memes were so 2020, 2026 is the year of utility. @DCent_Battle is a mirco cap at 13k mc thats been around for over a year, with a bunch of utility right around the corner. Web3 tabletop is coming frens.
