I was in high school celebrating my birthday, opening up a present from my parents. I was hit out of right field with a VHS copy of 'Charley Varrick,' a movie I had never seen, never heard of, and knew absolutely nothing about. My dad thought I would like it. I was completely baffled. He and I still laugh about it today.

One of the scariest #filmfestival experiences I’ve ever had

Watched Chris Carter’s Director’s Cut of ‘The X-Files: I Want to Believe,’ and it really wasn’t what I expected at all. If you’re imagining a vastly different version compared to the original theatrical release, then you can wipe that from your mind. This is pretty much exactly the same movie. There are no extended sequences with never-before-seen footage, plot points, or story arcs. It’s not even really a darker version of original, as marketed. Underwhelming overall, but I was suckered in by the marketing and by my love of ‘The X-Files.’
