I’m not needy…just a little extra fond of being noticed.
Like a cat that absolutely didn’t ask for attention- but will quietly place itself directly in your way until you understand the assignment.

This scene where the boy sincerely apologizes for being so cold to her. His apology comes from a place of guilt. Later in the story, he apologizes from a place of reconciliation.
Phone screens glow like stars in the dimness, each one holding someone’s world—messages mid-thought, photos paused in time, voices waiting to be heard. From a distance, it looks like we’re all connected, little constellations gathered together. But step closer and you realize: every light is its own sky, every person standing quietly inside a universe no one else can fully enter.
Don’t promise me the stars
and then deliver me
something dim,
something borrowed,
something that was never yours
to give.
Don’t lift my face
toward heaven
just to leave me
studying an empty sky.
Don’t speak in constellations
if your hands are full of smoke.
Don’t call it destiny
when it was only desire
wearing sacred clothes.
I was not foolish
for believing.
You made a language
out of wonder,
and I answered
like it was truth.
But there is a particular grief
in being led by light
that was never light at all—
only glitter,
only reflection,
only the shimmer
of something false
from far away.
So don’t promise me the stars
if all you have
are ashes,
echoes,
and excuses.
Don’t name forever
with a temporary mouth.
Don’t build a universe
in me
if you only meant
to visit.
I would have respected
an honest dusk.
It was the counterfeit dawn
that undid me.
My favorite thing about men is when they lie. And when they are self centered. And self serving.
And don’t care who they hurt because “I’m damaged”
When we love them anyway and it fails- “I told you. This is your fault.”
