Some #ECHL changes for 2026-27:
1. Two-Ref games are increasing to 75% from 50%. So 27 of a team's 36 home games will have a 4-person crew.
2. No more 14-Day IR. It will now be a 7-Day IR, with an unlimited number of players who can be placed on it.
One notable change to the ECHL qualifying offer period.
Previously, vets (260 GP+) could receive them and be restricted free agents for a month before becoming UFAs.
Now, no player with 190+ GP can receive a QO, therefore they immediately become UFAs.
Updated player tracker plus season ending roster!
The 2026-27 season officially began today and teams are eligible to sign players and make qualifying offers.
Cyclones historically have announced signings on Wednesdays so may see something tomorrow. If my memory tracks, they did wait to announce signings throughout the summer.
From the ECHL to Calder Cup champions ๐
Congratulations to the Toronto Marlies and all of the former ECHL players who played a part in bringing the Calder Cup to Toronto.๐
