Historically this was solved by everyone adhering to the same Creed. Christian unity begins here:
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible: And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, Begotten of the Father before all ages, Light of Light, True God of True God, Begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made: Who for us men and for our salvation came down from the heavens, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man; And was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures; And ascended into the heavens, and sitteth at the right hand of the Father; And shall come again, with glory, to judge both the living and the dead, Whose kingdom shall have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, Who proceedeth from the Father, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, Who spake by the Prophets; In One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I Confess one Baptism for the remission of sins. I look for the Resurrection of the dead, And the life of the age to come, Amen.
@needGod_net You are literally preaching against Jesus's command with your false equivalency. Circumcision was a type, a symbol, baptism is the reality. You are the Judaizing heretic keeping baptism as just a type and symbol.
PSA in the Calvainst, Anselmianism or protestant sense turns god into a blood thirsty pagan deity who needs to be satisfied with blood sacrifice. We are only saved from blood being spilt as "payment"
Instead we should think of sacrifice and substitution like this: blood spilling out of love to save us, like shielding your loved ones from a bullet.
Yes, he condescended himself to subject his human nature to death. (The punishment we deserve)
Not as a legal transaction to pay himself off, but as a sacrifice of love to enter into death and destroy it, for our sake.
Protestants take this PSA stuff so far to say that the Father damned the Son, which of course is anti-trinitarian.
@aspiring_deer@beefytony God created a world where we actually have free-will, so any evil in it is a secondary cause. Not a direct cause from God. God is not the author of evil.
I have a theory, that when someone dies, God will grant them to hear all the prayers people said for their well-being, as a last ditch effort to save their soul and repent. However it works exactly, we must see how critical praying for others truly is and it's absolutely not a waste of time
@ChristianWifeMo No christian in the first 1000+ years of Christianity were parachurch arbitrary. You're denying the entire Christian witness in history.
@Haqiqatjou Allah does not unite humanity to his nature so salvation and love will always be at arms length. Why worship a god who doesn't love us? Allah is just another worthless tyrant pagan deity.
@hashjenni Heterodox heretics pushing dispensationalism doctrine in evangelical churches funded by you know who. Paula White, Trump's "spiritual advisor" holds to this doctrine.
