It shouldnโt be this obvious (IMMEDIATELY) that these PFF/podcast era โscouts/whatever the fuck theyโre call themselvesโ understand nothing about the sport they cover
Unfortunately for Dante Moore, THIS WAS NOT A DIRTY HIT
The QB is still presenting himself as a runner while the defender is closing
Moore initiates the slide late, at a point where the defender has already committed to making the tackle
The issue is that weโve grown accustomed to modern football and its rule structure protecting offensive players to a detrimentโฆ. This has normalized bad decision making and processing the QB position, specifically
You can argue whether it deserves a flagโฆ.But violent โ dirty
(The sideline antics by #8 are a separate issue, thoughts and prayers are with Moore ๐๐ฟ)
The idea that a quarterback can go outside of the pocket, run for yardage and just slide at any moment and the defender is supposed to be prepared for him to slide while simultaneously trying to stop him from gaining yards is the most asinine thing about the modern era of football. If youโre a QB running with the ball defenders should be able to hit you like anyone else.
Hoosiers - new mission - donโt just beat USC. Embarrass the F out of them and run the score up.
That play still has me pissed, and itโs not even my team
