@desasprio American here, nineteen hundred is usually reserved for the time period, one thousand nine hundred is used more. When I hear someone say it out of time context it’s confusing. Nineteen hundred and nineteen thousand are easily mixed up too (1,900) (19,000)

@miao_tae_ this is a little silly, but I travel to Japan often and when I get back to the US I find myself subconsciously doing it too, especially right off the plane. I have to remind myself it’s different here
