The unwillingness by the media to highlight the fissures within Scottish Labour is because they want to push a United/Resurgent Labour versus a Divided/Weakened SNP. A Holyrood Labour Govt excites them.

The news narrative for Holyrood 2026 has already been decided. Splits within Scottish Labour destroys that predetermined United Labour v Divided SNP narrative, so they're ignored.

Scotland's pro-Union media will protect Sarwar to the best of its ability. The thing they didn't expect and can't control is Starmer's calamitous premiership and the UK wide news narratives.

As of 0735 Good Morning Scotland has made no mention of yesterday's winter fuel payment vote that exposed fractures within Scottish Labour. The blackout is all the more bizarre given one of today's news items is a warning about the cut from Age Scotland.

It follows BBC Scotland's decision on Monday to employ a similar blackout of analysis from the Child Poverty Action Group that found the two child benefit cap has pushed 10,000 children into poverty since Labour came to power.
