Our pilot ep of the Going to Overtime podcast is here 🎉
From EML to Calypso, Dokkaebi to ranked 3.0, we'd love to hear what you think.
Eps will be coming weekly on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts - enjoy!
My only criticism of Ranked 3.0 is that the early season stakes don't feel meaningful.
You do your placements, you get emerald 2/3/4 as an ex. champ (they matter more) but then every game after that is +-20 elo.
IMO it should be more volatile early season to push you into your right skill group (ie. rank)
You win against other emeralds on your 6th game? Get 80+ elo. You lose? Lose 80+ elo. Then the initial skill differentials matter more. The more you play, the more your rank solidifies, and the less you gain/lose per match. This is what 1.0 did and it makes sense. The more you play, the more the game understands what rank you belong in. +-20 elo should be the minimum amount you gain/lose imo, makes it more fun when you're getting tossed around through the ranks a bit more (especially early season)
