I became a #carer for my dad, not a #career choice or an #education choice, not a role we are prepared for. But the most rewarding and biggest #learning curve we can go on. It is now both a #career choice and #learning curve, and most importantly a male #livedexperience choice.
80 years since D-Day.
80 years since the largest seaborne invasion in history.
80 years since the heroic efforts of those who landed on the beaches of Normandy to liberate Europe from Nazi tyranny.
80 years of peace in Western Europe since.
Today we say thank you.

Think about this... for every older man sat alone in a coffee shop this weekend there's possibly over 100 more like him locally who are too anxious, scared or depressed to even make that step to leave the house.
5. their immediate family & the #ECONOMY. The current system is not sustainable. Have I got all the answers, no, but as a group #carers do have many of them. Finally I'm lucky that I can use play cricket to help with my #mentalhealth but it's been a struggle to play not tired
1 This summer again the challenges of being a #carer for family members has come forefront of my life. 3 close relatives, 2 no partner & no children #awoc. The challenges are similar to when I cared for my Dad, the reliance of the state on #carers, the exhaustion of everything
4. We know the growth in caring is constant, given all the challenges to people & the economy, #CostOfLiving, #Productivity etc. This one appears under the radar but let's not kid ourselves #caring without support will cause damage to #carers, who they care for....
Today great game against a youthful @RothleyParkCC 3rd XI, 3 of @fvcc winning team age 50+, include myself & @chrisknight46 who was close to a 5er. Great to see mixture of youth/older, & women playing. Both clubs are develop youth & women's game but also still shows value of age
My uncle sadly passed away today, late 80s, never married/no children, liked a pint & small bet on horses & football. Never owned a mobile, only had a landline 20yrs. Always paid cash & managed to get by stress free. Like my dad inspired my to set-up @CM2MLtd#endloneliness
