As a Muslim, there's something that genuinely bothers me.

Millions of Muslims live in Christian majority countries, build mosques, preach Islam publicly, distribute Qur'ans, open halal businesses, and demand religious freedom,and rightly so.

Some even call for aspects of Shariah to be accommodated in the societies they've moved to.

Yet in some Muslim majority countries, Christians cannot openly preach the Gospel, build churches freely, or practice their faith without restrictions.

Why?

If we demand religious freedom for ourselves, we should be willing to grant it to others.

Truth does not need censorship.

If Islam is the truth, it has nothing to fear from a church, a Bible, or a Christian preacher.

You can't demand tolerance and freedom for Muslims abroad while denying the same freedoms to others at home.

The double standard needs to be called out.

Canada has long been known as a land of immigrants and opportunity. However, many are left wondering:

what broke Canada?

Here is a real story shared by a close friend.

My friend landed in Canada in 2015 and was offered free English coaching as part of his early settlement assistance in Saskatchewan. He joined these English lessons and noticed that he had several classmates from the African continent. Surprisingly, these classmates had been stuck at the exact same English proficiency level for three to four years. This was shocking to my friend because it was a very basic, introductory level that could easily be cleared within three months.

After befriending most of them, my friend figured out the truth. These individuals had actually been living in Canada for seven to eight years and were still studying at the exact same college. Furthermore, none of them had applied for Canadian citizenship; they all remained permanent residents.

The Loophole

The reason was simple, if you become a Canadian citizen, you no longer qualify for free language schooling. These free English programs are a benefit reserved strictly for permanent residents.

Because they shared a similar religious background, many of these families had between four and eight children. Additionally, their cultural or religious beliefs did not permit the women to work outside the home. Since the men were perpetually "in school," these families were able to claim every single government benefit available to them. They received money for:

Food and groceries
Rent assistance
Unemployment benefits
Child tax benefits

Meanwhile, our own elderly population has to keep working well past the age of 65 simply because they cannot afford to retire.

This is what broke Canada: weak government policies exploited by strong personal interests.

Today is the Feast day of
"The Saint that we needed,"
venerated in the Catholic Church as a Saint, Mystic,Lay Woman, Penitent ,Apostle of Charity, and Miracle worker . She is called Saint Germaine Cousin, a handicapped French farm girl who suffered physical abuse from her stepmother.
Her Story :

St. Germaine was born with a right hand that was crippled and powerless. Always a sickly child, she soon developed a scrofulous condition of the neck glands that deformed her appearance with huge swellings.

In addition to her physical ailments, the child had to endure a father who had no affection for her, while his second wife actively disliked her.

She was devoted to the recitation of the Holy Rosary, which she recited with great care. When the church bell signaled the Angelus, she would kneel down and pray, regardless of the mud or snow.

Germaine attended Holy Mass every day. If she was in the fields when it was time for the Holy Sacrifice, she would plant her crook in the ground and commend her flock to her guardian angel before hurrying to the church.
On her return, she never once found any of the sheep missing,
this despite the fact that wolves lurked in the neighboring forest waiting to attack unattended animals. Germaine received Holy Communion as often as it was then allowed. She never engaged in the social life of the peasants or mixed with girls of her own age, but she did take pleasure in instructing children in the truths of the Catholic faith and encouraging them in the love of God.

The miracles attested were cures of every kind (of blindness, congenital and resulting from disease, of hip and spinal disease), besides the multiplication of food for the distressed community of the Good Shepherd at Bourges in 1845.

Germaine was canonized as patron saint of people with disabilities and those who have been abused or abandoned ,the handicapped, the poor, and physical therapists.

Prayer ;
O Saint Germaine, look down from Heaven and intercede for the many abused children in our world. Help them to sanctify these sufferings. Strengthen children who suffer the effects of living in broken families. Protect those children who have been abandoned by their parents and live in the streets. Beg God’s mercy on the parents who abuse their children. Intercede for handicapped children and their parents.
