We need to protect equitable access to STEM pathways!
Thanks to advocacy from FACCC, students, and faculty, the Chancellor’s Office has updated AB 1705 guidance to allow pre-calculus sequences for students who haven’t completed equivalent high school coursework. We still need your help! Opposition to this flexibility will be voiced at the Jan. 14 Board of Governors meeting in Sacramento, and public support is crucial.
Join us this Tuesday, Jan. 14, to provide public comments:
✅ In-person at the Chancellor’s Office: Sixth Floor, Board of Governors Chambers | 1102 Q Street, Sacramento, CA 95811
✅ Via Zoom: https://t.co/ABWK9ZHw1F

Shoutout to our Northern California Ambassador Dolores Davison and Government Relations Director Anna Mathews for representing FACCC and presenting on AB 1705 at the 52nd annual @CMC3N California Mathematics Council Community Colleges conference!
Community colleges have been restricted from offering standalone pre-transfer courses in math and English. It’s time to restore flexibility for colleges to serve students effectively! #TrustEducators #HigherEd
