📰 Check out our latest e-newsletter that highlights recent work, and what Carlina has accomplished over the last eight years in service of our community. https://t.co/k7HJZ5NyTn
Council passed Carlina’s bill to fix a gap in supportive housing rules, ensuring time spent incarcerated counts toward eligibility. This will help break cycles of homelessness, improve health, reduce recidivism, and restore stability for our most vulnerable neighbors.
INT 1100-A (sponsored by @CMCarlinaRivera) removes a barrier that delays access to supportive housing for New Yorkers with justice system involvement and mental health challenges, who are experiencing homelessness.
🚴🚶🌳 Carlina joined colleagues + advocates to celebrate a milestone for NYC’s greenway network - the rollout of her law requiring a citywide plan. Safer rides, more walking space and nature access - a big step toward a greener, healthier, more connected city!
On August 14, we will be with our partners at City Hall Park to support INT 1100-2024 and demand housing justice for system impacted individuals. Join us!

Since 2022, @NYCCouncil has approved 120K+ housing units and secured $8B+ in investments to make housing more affordable. That progress is only possible because of our role in the land use process, which Mayor Adams’ Charter Commission is now trying to weaken.
Two years after the Council passed a law to expand mental healthcare in the city’s family shelters, 75% now have on-site social workers.
Early data shows that more families are getting care and fewer crises are occurring, a critical step toward breaking the cycle of homelessness.
