We joined the picket line with public defenders at the Neighborhood Defender Service (@NDSUnion). While management rejects their common sense wage increases, we will stand with these hard working public defenders.

ODB Jones Way is officially on Franklin and Putnam Avenue! Our office was proud to champion this street co-naming through the City Council in honor of Russell Tyrone Jones, the artist the world knew as Ol' Dirty Bastard. (1/3) 🧵

3:35pm: Tornado Warned storms continue over NENJ and just barely off to the northwest of NYC. Monitoring very closely to see how the storms evolve in the next few minutes, which will determine whether the tornado potential gets into the NYC Metro or not. It will be close.

⛈️ Multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms are expected across NYC today into Wednesday, with the strongest storms and greatest severe threat between 6 and 11 p.m. tonight.

🌧️ Expect 1 to 1.75 inches of rain, locally 2 to 3.5 inches where storms repeat, with localized flash flooding possible. It may affect parts of the city differently and unevenly.

💨 Damaging wind gusts of 40 to 70 mph are the main threat, and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

⚠️ Every storm is dangerous no matter its size or severity. When you hear thunder, head inside a sturdy building. Never stay in or re-enter a flooded basement, and do not drive, walk, or swim through floodwaters, you do not know the depth or debris underneath or whether it is electrified. Today, the @NYCCouncil approved land use applications that will bring affordable senior housing to our district. This project shows how community institutions like houses of worship can work with local govt to build much-needed affordable housing and improve community spaces.
