Victor Munoz had earlier picked up an injury and only returned to full training before Spain’s goalless draw against Cape Verde on Monday.

He has been working on planned individual recovery. Spain have confirmed the 22-year-old has had a new setback during the recovery process.

“During the planned and individualised recovery process, an additional muscle injury has occurred, which will delay his return to competition. His availability for the upcoming matches will depend on the evolution of his symptoms,” the RFEF medical team stated in in a press release.

Italian reporter Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that the Liverpool sporting director has met up with Piero Ausilio, Inter’s sporting director, to discuss the deal:

“There was a transfer market meeting in Monte Carlo between Inter and Liverpool. On the occasion, the two sporting directors – Piero Ausilio and Richard Hughes – also had the opportunity to discuss the market, opening a dialogue on one of the profiles followed by the Nerazzurri,” the Italian journalist reported.

“At the center of the talks is Curtis Jones who has long been in Inter’s sights.”
