Clint Hagan is a fifth-generation farmer who has been farming sugarbeets in Huron County, Michigan, for 25+ years. The sugarbeets grown by Clint and his family are sent to @michigansugarco, a farmer-owned cooperative, where the sugar made by the plants is extracted and packaged.
We wish it was this easy to leave our farms and families behind to advocate for a new Farm Bill! But the truth is, while it’s a sacrifice to come to Capitol Hill, it’s important that Congress understand what’s at stake when it comes to U.S. sugar policy. Our family farms and rural communities depend on the strength and stability of the #FarmBill. It’s now more than two years overdue – it’s time to get it done. Let’s go!
Thank you to @cmdchagen and our growers from @michigansugarco, @AmalSugarCo, @CrystalSugarCo, @SouthMNSugar – and all of the other farmers who took time away from their farms to join us on the Hill this week – for their hard work and dedication.
In case you missed it, we joined with @DucksUnlimited@NCottonCouncil@farmcredit@Purina & U.S. Rice Producers last week to celebrate the strength and resilience of the winning team of farm families who help feed our nation: https://t.co/xGBNXlMg2B.
