#Today in 1940, RCAF Flying Officer Allan Benjamin Angus is posthumously awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, for becoming the first Canadian "ace" of the Second World War. He flew as a member of the Royal Air Force’s 85 Squadron and died on May 16, 1940, at the age of 22.
