When we talk about the budget, we’re talking real people, real homes, and real stability. 🏠
Heard from a Ward 7 resident how ReMIT is helping neighbors stay rooted in their communities. That’s why I fight for budget investments that meet real needs.
Housing stability. 💜
Beautiful day celebrating Juneteenth with neighbors in the District! ✊🏾❤️🖤💚

This budget delivers real wins for DC residents.
$28.2M for housing vouchers.
$500K for foreclosure prevention.
$636K for Youth mentorship.
Support for childcare, workers, tenants, families, and public safety.
This is what it looks like when budget meets you where you are. 💪🏽
The annual MLK Parade is something the entire DC government shows up for, yet it has never received dedicated funding. This budget season, I identified funding to support it. As we move through the budget process, let’s make sure that investment stays in place.
As you know, I recently shared the Committee on Housing’s FY27 budget priorities and recommendations and one issue that deserves real attention is support for families exiting Rapid Rehousing.
Creating 38 opportunities for families to transition into more stable housing instead of facing uncertainty after leaving the program. For many families, this support could make an immediate difference.
444 families currently in FRSP/Rapid Rehousing are expected to exit the program in FY27. That’s why this budget funds 26 new vouchers beginning in FY27 and another 12 in FY28.
Stability starts with investment.
It’s critical that we put dollars where they help residents most, and my team and I are proud to have helped secure these FY27 budget priorities. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

As the budget process continues, I’ll keep fighting for investments that strengthen families, support working residents, and create long-term opportunity across the District.
My FY27 budget priorities remain focused on housing stability, public safety, workforce support, youth investment, and protecting pathways to homeownership for DC residents.
