There is a very fine line between
"Nothing matters, that means why bother”
and
"Nothing matters, that means the opportunities are endless, so why not"
What determines which side of the line you fall on is your own definition of "value"
@Courtne91162652 My wife and I have been together for 13 years, I've never seen chocolate in the fridge.
Starting this past month: chocolate in the fridge.
She claims she's always done that - I'm so confused.
I find it suspicious that the algorithm appears to be pushing gambling - streamers on Stake, casino slot jackpots, blackjack vlogs - to the point of TV show shorts of million dollar cash seizures and local news lottery winnings.
@infantrydort Watching this ENTIRE back and forth all day has been an unexpected rollercoaster and fires me up.
I was in Baghdad the same time as you.
I remember those sandstorms. I remember Easter we got clobbered.
I remember things now that I thought I forgot.
20 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing, was making everything up as I go, and always felt behind.
20 years later, I still have no idea what's happening, I'm still making it up as I go, but now I realize everyone else is doing the same thing and I'm not behind.
@SGTWipper1Each@peoples_unicorn I LOVED LandNav.
As soon as I realized reading a map was just like reading the mini-map from Command & Conquer Red Alert, it got even easier
In Basic/OSUT we had a guy who AWOL and came back about a month or 2 later. Because he was a flight risk, there were always 2 guards assigned to him.
When it was my turn, I asked why he came back he said he was always looking over his shoulder they were looking for him. We told him no one was looking for him and guys go AWOL all the time - he looked surprised.
Next day he was gone again.
Oops.
@JayJosephVet There is a specific government form (DD Form 603-1) for War Trophy Registration (updated in 2024 as "War Souvenir") for troops to fill out and get approved by Company Commander to take things home that we not issued.
