How many sharks does it take to go viral during #SharkWeek? More than 150! Check out these hammerheads spotted by #StocktonU Ospreys on a Cape May Whale Watch and Research Center pelagic trip. This reel has 1.5 million views so far!
Melissa Laurino, an animal care specialist, adjunct instructor and 2x #StocktonU graduate, is also an owner and captain of Cape May Whale Watch and Research Center with her husband Matt Remuzzi, also a Stockton grad! Melissa talks about NJ’s dolphins in this article. #GoOspreys!
In a heartbreaking turn of events, researchers have discovered that the endangered #NorthAtlanticRightWhale population may be in worse shape than previously thought. With a total number estimated at under 350, new data reveals that at least 114 of these whales are now dead or suffering from sickness or injury. As the number of healthy, reproductive North Atlantic Right Whales continues to dwindle, our work to protect them from some of their greatest threats, including vessel strikes and accidental entanglements becomes even more urgent.
