Today marks 17 years since the Cougar Flight 491 tragedy. We remember and honour the 17 individuals who lost their lives offshore and stand with families, friends and colleagues who carry their memory.

On Feb. 15, 1982, 84 men lost their lives on the Ocean Ranger, a semi-submersible offshore drilling unit that sank in Canadian waters on the Grand Banks of Newfoundland. We honour them with focus on safety & environmental protection in decisions we make as an offshore regulator.
