Unpopular Opinion. How about supervising FSD Supervised? If you want out of the left lane, activate the directional and the car changes lanes. Want to get through a stop sign faster? Tap the accelerator.
Stop “testing” and start “using”. An intervention is not a failure of the system. Everyone wants Unsupervised so bad they are forcing it.
Well, since we can’t do that yet and don’t know when we will be able to, I’ll check back when’s it’s an actually problem.
Seriously though. I think these concerns will have solutions over time. Nothing launches perfectly. Before long we will look back and reminisce about those rough and tumble days when riders were given small discounts to wipe off the cameras after their ride or some such thing.
@thequeenbeetle As far as people are concerned, this is all just a fools errand. Even if Tesla can reduce accidents by 99% they will still have accidents and there will be calls for them to be banned or claims that the technology is a failure. It’s exhausting
A dose of reality.
16,817 avg. accidents daily on US highways. 296 million cars in the US in 2024. 2.5 million FSD capable teslas.
So using easy math, @Tesla share of those accidents should be about 1%. or 168 accidents. Daily! If FSD cut that by 67% to 55... 55 accidents...daily...
People would scream for it to be banned. When you really think about this, its hysterical and completely unreasonable.
Most of these replies reflect the thoughts of people who haven’t followed this space. Tesla opted to pursue autonomy instead of the $25K car. That went away and it was stated during an earnings call.
These new trims are just a reaction to losing the EV credit.
Tesla doesn’t have to make every car for every need. If you want the Bolt, get one. No need for all the vitriol
