"When I came to the sideline, he pulled me aside and said, 'Hey, you actually are fast.'" 🤣
Former @IndianaFootball RB Roman Hemby (@r_h3mby) tells a funny story about @CCignettiIU following Hemby's 82-yard TD run vs. Purdue. (Fast forward to around the 4:30 mark)
Indiana doesn’t recruit situational running backs.
They recruit complete ones.
Last season, Roman Hemby and Kaelon Black handled 83% of RB snaps and were on the field for nearly identical pass-play rates.
That means they weren’t rotating for a “third-down back.” Once a drive started, that RB stayed in for runs, passes, and protections.
At Indiana, the expectation is simple:
Running backs have to do everything.
Indiana did not lose a fumble over its final 1,047 offensive plays and 15 games, only losing a fumble in the first quarter of its season opener 😱
No other team since 2004 has gone more than 12+ consecutive games in a season without losing a fumble 😮
