How do u know how high u jumped if u dont measure it? How do u know how fast u ran if u don’t measure it? How do u judge intent of anything if u dont measure it? In sports w/ grey area we must find ways to measure it black & white. How do u know if u moved the needle if u don’t?
Intensity is not evil. Many interpret intensity as high risk. Training (and rehab) are always about calculated risk, but intensity levels should be appropriate, measured, and carefully progressed.
A lot of workouts can make you sore.
A lot of workouts can make you tired.
A lot of workouts can get you sweating.
That doesn't necessarily mean those workouts were better.
More is not better. Soreness is not better.
Better is better.
