In the Family: Shamari Lewis, Junior at Liberal High School, had 32 Points and 17 Rebounds in Friday nights win over Great Bend. Her father is Martin Lewis, a former Kansas HS basketball and track & field star for Liberal who played in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors for two seasons after being selected in the 1995 NBA Draft out of Seward County Community College by the Golden State Warriors. Lewis is a 6-foot junior that is averaging around 20 ppg this season for the Liberal girls team. #sportsinkansas

Hudson Rice of Liberal (5A) is a name to look out for on the line this fall. The 6’2 285lb OL was an All-State pick last fall and is expecting a big senior season. Rice is headed to Harding university next year to play 🏈 “We are working hard and trying to compete. We are trying to build something special in southwest Kansas,” Rice said. #sportsinkansas

Friday, all 3 javelin throwers threw PR's!!!! Ivan Moreno took 3rd overall and increased his PR by 17 feet!!!
