Ole Miss coach Pete Golding with a long answer at SEC Media Days about tampering: “Would you quit your job before interviewing for another job? No, nobody would.” Also says the same ADs “bitching about all this stuff” are the same ones calling coaches mid-year about open jobs
Kenny Dillingham delivers a raw message on excellence and what average really looks like.
"It was a really, really bad day on offense. And it all stems from the passion we play with."
"Is it okay to not make a play? And if you accept it, then you accept it and that's who you're gonna be."
Then he laid out the truth:
"Don't be mad going 5-7. It's okay. Don't be mad going 6-6. Don't be mad going 3-9. 'Cause somebody has to go those records. There's gonna be tons of teams who do it. Why not us?"
If you accept average, you'll become average.
"We didn't practice bad - we didn't practice with passion."
"The best teams - it matters all the time. You wanna win everything. And today we didn't have that mindset."
They look to compete every single day. They win because they have a winning mindset.
"We didn't wanna win. We wanted to practice. And those are 2 different mindsets to me."
Then he dropped the line:
"It was a good practice for a bad team. It was an average practice for an average team. That's what today was."
This is what the mindset of excellence looks like:
"We didn't practice with passion." → Good isn't good enough.
"It matters all the time." → Standards never take a day off.
"It was a good practice for a bad team." → Champions demand more.

@readswithravi Mike Elko said, "You earn the right to have success."
"The offseason is about being in places where nobody's watching...and getting up every day and going to work to become better so that you have a chance to have the success that you want."
You earn it when no one's watching.
Heartbreaking: Tom Brady was in tears emotionally talking about how he is not as good a father as his dad was.
"I know I'm not as good a dad to my kids as my dad was to me."
Greatness comes at the ultimate price 😔💔
