Happy to release my 270th podcast episode today with the inspiring Amadou Ba. His story is truly amazing. Having grown up in Mauritania, Africa with very limited financial means, Amadou's life changed when an American peace corp volunteer met him one day playing basketball in a local park. The American person would go on to arrange for Amadou to become a student exchange athlete and find him a place to play his final two years of basketball at high schools in Alabama and Maine.
Because of his extraordinary talent, Amadou ended up signing a full ride scholarship to the University of Michigan Wolverines and play 4 years there before graduating with a degree which was Amadou's dream come true.
This conversation was very inspiring and there are many life lessons we can learn from Amadou's story. Hope you have a listen. Amadou has now devoted his life to paying it forward a way to embrace true appreciation and gratitude for what people gave him over the years.

"Why do players perform well in drills but struggle in games?
Often, the answer is representativeness. Many drills remove key game info, while full matches don’t provide chances for them to explore the skill
So how do we fix this? Let’s talk about the Task Simplification
👇🧵

I wish I would’ve recorded the reflections of these students after we played this game. They were so meaningful and gave us a great insight of how kids felt after the activity. My prompt was “What made this activity fun?” #AmazingLearners#Physed@meaningfulPE#AdventureChallenge

Challenge: 💪 Have a session focus that doesn’t involve any sport specific technical or tactical skill.
✍️ Then design some games around that.
Ask Qs as feedback, but only in line with the focus 🧘♂️
They’ll have fun and you’ll probably notice some very different things 🤝
