@netflix@NetflixUK, if you want to do an English rugby documentary, crack on! Great! I’d watch that. But don’t do one, and call it a six nations documentary. #FullContact
Great to give some of our Advanced Certificate Coaching students the opportunity to be assessed in situ and for the rest of the class to experience some different sports. Massive thanks to @BalwearieGym and @activestirling1 for their support!
Great to facilitate a wide range of sports for our Advanced Certificate Coaches. We did some gymnastics this morning - the students leaped into it and flipped their frown upside down - that’s just how we roll!
A sight and sound I didn’t know I needed in my life…
4 Time Olympian, #Beijing2022 Winter @Olympics Gold Medalist, @TeamGB Curling Skip Eve Muirhead… just absolutely ripping it up on a set of Bagpipes… with two Pipers on her flanks! Truly Incredible.

Eddie Jones talks about an issue facing school sport👇
🗣"We've got alot of kids now not being taught by teachers for sport, they're being taught by ex players... We're trying to turn high school teams into high performance teams when they should be just development teams."
Season 1 of #QB1 on @netflix - there wasn’t a single individual I was rooting for - not the QBs, no other players, not the parents and definitely not the coaches who should really attend a workshop by @PositiveCoachUS
Fun! Who’s your pick?
Mine would be Felix, Van Niekerk, Muhammad, Rudisha.
That would be a fun group, although if it was a free-for-all it’d be Johnson, Felix, Van Niekerk, Muhammad
#AthleteA on @netflix is chilling. Sport should be a force for good but when those in charge conduct themselves without any sort of moral code or care for those they’re supposed to serve then it causes untold pain and suffering. Great strength shown by those who spoke up.
Former player/athlete gets appointed to performance coaching role ➡️ works with already talented players/athletes ➡️ therefore looks like a good coach ➡️ self-fulfilling prophecy ➡️ pats on the back all round 👍
This is the case in a lot of sports, athletics included. It hugely limits the talent pool that clubs/governing bodies are recruiting from and just demoralises accomplished coaches out there.
What's the point in a coach development pathway if you don't have a path?
"We interviewed 10 candidates for the role and they were all highly qualified and impressive... we appointed Brock because of his rugby CV....."
An apprentice baker works at his craft for 7 years 🤔
Repeating for the 13 trillionth time: Judge every individual based on their unique personhood. Judge them on the totality of their merits & flaws. Reject judgements based on immutable characteristics. Reject tribalism. Support individual dignity. It's not rocket science.
