Warriors lose the LILA 33-62. Rough game on our end. Didn’t play like a team.
But I am extremely proud of my 6 seniors that finished the season. Most have had me as a coach for 4 years now. They didn’t have role models to look up to, their upperclassmen rarely came to practice.
They have showed up day in and day out and started something at this school. They showed our underclassmen what is expected of you want to compete and I’m so proud of them for that.
Every coach this year told me “Your guys play hard!” And that is such a compliment to them
HCPA takes down COPA 66-63. Excellent defense helped the Warriors take down the Tigers.
Quincey Lee played amazing scoring a career high 21 points with 5 3’s.
Kaleb Vang added another 21 points and really helped with his great POA defense.
Tough loss tonight to New Life Academy 42-77. They are a very impressive team. Excellent guards, bigs can shoot, ball never feels sticky with them.
Touwin Yang scores 15 tonight for the Warriors.
Kaleb Vang adds another 12.
That’s four in a row now for the HCPA Warriors. Tonight we took down North Lakes Academy in a hard fought game. 84-77.
The Warriors started slow being down 3-15 after 3 minutes, but if there’s one great thing about this team is they fight.
HCPA Warriors defeat Milwaukee Hmong American Peace Academy 69-46 and retain the Hmong Cup! Warriors played with great defensive intensity all night long.
@TouwinYang23 scores 31
Kaleb Vang added another 11
HCPA Warriors with another tough fought win over ISM/CA 69-61. ISM/CA plays with a lot of size and physicality, but we were able to speed them up just enough to come out with another win.
@TouwinYang23 scores 40 tonight!!
HCPA beats Avail 71-70. A competitive game through the final buzzer.
After a winter break with no more than two kids at practice I am so impressed with the intensity the boys brought to the game today. Everyone brought energy no matter how much they played.
Touwin 34
Kaleb 15
HCPA gets their first win of the season tonight against Prairie Seeds Academy 65-28! Warriors turned the defense up halfway through the first half and never looked back.
Xavier Yang scores 18 to lead the Warriors.
Jamarcus Nelson was an absolute man on the boards tonight.
Lost to Cristo Rey 66-81.
Ten point lead at halftime squandered with bad shots, bad defense, and no rebounding.
On a positive note Touwin Yang set a new HCPA career high scoring 39.
Warriors lose to Hiawatha 34-93. Can’t teach height and got out matched physically. Fought hard the entire game no matter what the score was.
Third game in a row where we scored under 15 points in the second half. At this point that falls on me.
Hmong Academy loses in a tough game to Higher Ground 79-71.
Plenty of chances for our guys to give up and throw in the towel but they kept fighting until the final horn.
Xavier Yang leads the Hmong Academy in scoring.
I know this is a bad time to ask because the basketball season just started, but we at the Hmong Academy in Saint Paul are in need of an Assistant Varsity Coach and an Assistant JV Coach. If anyone is looking to get involved let me know!
