There’s truth to this. But when you walk through the door after a long day to your kids screaming “daddy!” and wanting a hug, it makes a lot of the stress and worries of coaching disappear.

There’s bigger things in life than football.

Coaching has this funny little problem:
everyone has a coach…
except the coach.

Athletes get pep talks.
Parents get explanations.
Admins get updates.

And we get—
the steering wheel on the drive home.

We’re the ones who stay level
even when we don’t feel level.
We’re the ones who reset the room
even when we’re the ones who need the reset.

It’s not a complaint.
Just one of those parts of the job no one really talks about.

You pour into everyone.
But the job doesn’t pour back.

If you’ve felt that lately… yeah, same.

@BoCamaro Stipes. I’m pretty sure that old plane is still in one of the buildings on the farm there. Not sure if it was her grandfather Charlie or great grand father Roy as both flew.

@BoCamaro You’ll have a hard time convincing my father in law to sell. They sold the round track a few years back and regretted it. The plan for now is to continue to lease it out.

I wonder if that gentleman was my wife’s grandfather. He didn’t happen to fly a plane did he?
