@nckhui They post this every year. But remember across the state that the average includes limited positions like coaches that work 2 or more extra hours a day after teaching, department heads, testing coordinators, and JROTC instructors (who still have salary subsidized by the military)
@JohnLynch0404@nckhui What exactly is your point? In the largest school system in NC some teachers make over 70k?
Those probably all have 30 years of experience, could have national boards, and thst may even include things like leadership rolls and stipends.
The state base is 55 for 30 years.
@nckhui@RebeccaNoel98 NC schools test all students. This is not a fair comparison to schools that only test students trying to get into 4 year Universities. The test also 'didn't count' for college admission for the past few years so I believe several students just did not take it too serious.
@POTUS As a teacher I cannot accept a gift over $75 to keep me from passing someone that does not deserve it in Algebra. But someone who interprets the constitution can do what they want?
@nckhui Was this same child intimidated by Black History Month. I am a straight white male that has math posters with LGBTQ, Latin, Women, and Black mathematician. These are to represent my students, not myself.
@nckhui Very interesting to say 'teachers' when the teacher pay scale with masters and national board maxes out at $82,228.50. If that person happened to be the testing coordinator, mentor coordinator, and have two mentees, would bump them to $94,969.50....
@nckhui State continues to find a way to blame the teachers. There is a shortage of math teachers at high school, but a MUCH bigger shortage at the middle school level. Most students struggling with Math 1 in high school can barely do middle school level math before entering high school.
@jmlukins@nckhui That is what I thought. They try to use steps as 'raises' when they alone barely keep up with inflation. And unlike other state jobs, there is no other way to get a raise unless you become an admin or pay for something like a National Boards.
@katie27900304@nckhui Does everyone in your position make the exact same regardless of experience? Or are they multi teared steps based off of rank/title.
