BREAKING: “I think it will be done, they want to sign.”
President Trump announces he’s confident that Iran will formally agree to the latest peace deal that’s set to be adopted on Friday.
“This is a memorandum of understanding, but it's a very strong one. This isn't just like a two paragraph- this is a long, you know, pretty detailed memorandum that goes into a regular contract. I would think they would do it. If they don't, then that's, you know, that's okay. We'll have to start the process again.”
BREAKING: The US and Iran are discussing moving up the signing of the Iran deal from Friday to potentially as soon as today, per Axios.
If that happens, the MOU would be signed electronically, the parts of the deal concerning the Strait of Hormuz would go into effect, and the full text may be released.
BREAKING: The US will allow Iran to immediately begin selling oil and fuel under the deal to end the war, per WSJ.
Details include:
1. The provision for waivers of sanctions on oil sales takes effect immediately upon signing the agreement
2. This also covers necessary services including banking, transportation and insurance needed to facilitate the sales
3. Iran is expected to receive upfront sanctions relief under the deal with further relief tied to Iran’s performance

President Trump said he plans to hold a press conference and read the full memorandum of understanding with Iran “word-by-word” to ensure the media reports on it accurately. He called the agreement a “very important document” and said the public will be able to see its contents in full.
Trump also contrasted the deal with the Obama-era nuclear agreement, calling the JCPOA “the worst agreement” and arguing it created a path to a nuclear weapon. He said his agreement instead serves as a “wall against a nuclear weapon.”
