Chase Elliott has removed himself from voting for the Most Popular Driver award while Kyle Busch is eligible.
In 2001, Bill Elliott withdrew himself so Dale Earnhardt could win the Most Popular Driver award.
Now, Chase does the same 25 years later.

Wrong, it’s the car brother. Nobody wants to tune in because you can’t pass with this car. Go look at Indy this year and see how many passes occur after they get a couple laps in. Few and far between.
Maybe NASCAR ratings are low because we don’t have that “superstar” power that existed years ago.
Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Dale Jr, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards…
All those names gone & those names alone could carry NASCAR.
