@GarySharp_ PLAY THAT F’ing SONG. I may or may not have said a lot of F bombs in the bottom of the 10th. Come September they don’t ask how — they ask how many.
@GarySharp_ can we get a Warren Swain story time podcast this week? Always loved his voice, and wished he lasted here a while longer. He got saddled with an interesting time for NU football. And for a fanbase that already despises change, never felt like he got a fair shake.
@GarySharp_ I may have to stop watching the Cubs for the year. This team brings no joy. They held on to Happ a year too long, have no healthy arms, Dansby and Nico are hitting a combined .210 and if Bregman hits another one-hopper to third, I may drink my liver into submission.
@GarySharp_ the Cubs are a bad baseball team. I knew what I was watching earlier in the season and now it’s come to full fruition. This is a bad ball club. Can’t hit and can’t keep the ball in the yard. That’s a tough combo.
@GarySharp_ Literally no one throws Dansby a fastball. All breaking stuff and he knows it’s coming. Still can’t touch it. His defense isn’t worth giving up that much on offense.
@GarySharp_ None. Dansby isn’t hitting his weight. Bregman rolls over to 3B 90 percent of the time. And our pitchers throw batting practice. What’s the solution? Is it time to punt on the season with 99 games left?
@GarySharp1620 are the Cubs good? For some reason I don’t love this team yet, but damn I can appreciate a team that just keeps finding ways to win despite a decimated pitching staff.
@GarySharp1620 this Cubs team is frustrating. The lack of power is going to be a problem. But some of Craig’s decisions are just bad. You have to bunt the runner to 3rd in extras when you shut them out in the top half. I’d rather have 2 chances to score from 3rd than 3 from 2nd.
@GarySharp1620 I just struggle with the philosophy. The Cubs already give up so much offense for defense up the middle with Dansby, Nico and to an extent PCA. You can’t forego offense for defense everywhere. At some point you need to score runs.
@GarySharp1620 I told all my friends last fall to unload Ian Happ in the offseason. If he’s going to be a top-4 hole hitter all year, it’s going to be a tough season at Wrigley. He’s so bad. And has been for over a year now.
@GarySharp1620 if Cade Horton is this generation’s version of my childhood pitching hero Mark Prior, I will never watch another inning of Cubs baseball again. Too much pain.
@GarySharp1620 loving this Cubs bullpen. Plenty of free passes topped with a long ball. That’s a good recipe, right? Where are the flame-throwers? This looks more like the pen 2-3 years ago that had an average fastball velo of 91 mph.
@GarySharp1620 It feels strange to me the current generation will grow up not loathing Texas. My aunt said she wouldn’t go to the Alamo Bowl bc she refused to spend a dime in that state. That’s the disdain we had for Texas. (Your generation probably thought the same about mine and OU)
@GarySharp1620 having a few beverages on a Saturday night at home and decided to watch an old Husker FB game. Settled on 1999 NU-CU. We are up 24-3 at half and only attempted 6 passes. I forgot how much that ‘99 team put the ball on the turf. Damn.
