Almost here!
This weekend, you’ll hear from:
🎤 Lamar Glenn & Robert Wilson on Leadership Training
🎤 Lashawn Smith, Scott Paine & Jermaine Christian on Middle School AD
🎤 Tiffany Pippins & Bill Stikes on Legal Issues
🎤 Jennifer Raymond & Candice Roberson on Contest Management
GHSA gets a lot of grief, but Don Corr hit the nail on the head here: “…school athletic directors should be able to keep up with their own scores…we have to rely on athletic directors to do their jobs. It’s frustrating.”
As ADs we have to do better.

“Learning from my peers and growing together.”
@CoachStikes, AD at @GriffinSpalding, is looking forward to the annual GADA Conference. From meaningful workshops to professional development, this is where leaders sharpen their craft & recharge.
Athens is calling. See you there!
Principals/ADs looking to hire coaches:
Don’t get enamored with things that don’t matter.
Ask yourself:
- Who can build the best relationships?
- Who is the best communicator?
- Who seems the most organized?
Call References not on their resume.
This is the best formula.
Hate walking into a visiting locker room and seeing this. We leave a trash can in there for a reason. What do we teach our athletes when this is acceptable?
.@GriffinSpalding is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant from the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, in partnership w/ the @AtlantaFalcons & @ATLUTD, to expand middle school athletic programs, adding soccer for boys and girls & girls flag football

Beyond Self Athletes Assembly: Respect Yourself - Respect Others - Take Responsibility. We had a great assembly this morning for all of our @GriffinSpalding middle and high school student-athletes. Big shout out to @CoachStikes for coordinating this activity!!
School athletic honors night is your chance to celebrate every student-athlete, especially those who may not shine at the district level.
Make it meaningful. Reflect your program’s values. Get the details right. Recognize effort, character, and leadership.
The bell rings, but school isn’t over. Not for @griffinspalding student-athletes anyway.
They’re still learning, just in a different classroom:
The basketball court, soccer field, swimming pool & more.
This is just 1 reason why we #ChooseSchoolSports!

A-T-L-A-N-T-A Atlanta score a goal today! Hooray!
Avery starting chanting that when we went down 3-1 last week and it worked for the W - hoping it works for @ATLUTD again today!
Been singing it the whole way here! #WeAreTheA#ATLUTD
Excited to have contributed to this article on “How to Create a Positive and Supportive Environment in Youth Sports” - it takes all of us working together to help make positive experiences for our student-athletes!
