@Heath_Clawson True, but scheduling by coaches can help. When I coached, we had two 90 min slots each day for athletes to choose from. They could come at 7:00 am or 7:00 pm.
Most jobs , summer sports, or just having fun could be worked around.
Some schedules I see now have little flexibility.

I’ve taken a lot of crap for the last decade plus being a pro-Bianco guy. I’ve said it time and time again. Mike Bianco is Ole Miss Baseball. Mike Bianco is the most consistent coach running a college baseball program that we’ve seen in a long time. He’s ridden the ups and downs with us the whole way. He’s our guy. Like it, love it, hate it, I don’t care. I’m riding with 5 till the end.

With all due respect, winning a HS state championship holds less and less weight every year to me.

Not because winning is easy, because it’s not.

I understand people are only doing what they’re allowed to do, I get it. But because roster movement, transfers, recruiting culture, and talent stacking have completely changed what high school football looks like.

Beyond grateful I grew up in what felt like the golden age of HS football. It created morals and values in me that I still carry today.

@jenteach13 When students say something like “I only need a half point to …..” I remind them they are talking about an average. They actually need a half point on 3 or 4 tests, 25-30 daily assignments and 15-20 quizzes. So they really need 20-25 points to reach the grade they want.

@Shelbs0410 @EliteGolfDad Whenever I can, I chip with a 5 hybrid and play it like a putt. It will get a few inches off the ground at the start and skim through the fringe. Unless there is green side rough or a trap in my way, it works well for me. So far, I’ve never hit it fat, chunked or shanked it.
